Founded by beer geek/rock ‘n’ roll entrepreneur Greg Koch and beer lover/home-brewer Steve Wagner, Stone Brewing has come a long way since opening up in San Diego, California in 1996. Today, Stone has been listed on the Inc. 500 | 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies list 11 times, and has been called the “All-time Top Brewery on Planet Earth” by BeerAdvocate magazine twice, all while remaining proudly independent.

Moody Tongue’s goal is to create thoughtful, exciting beers that blend familiar flavors with quality ingredients. Helmed by brewmaster and culinary mastermind Jared Rouben, their philosophy is ‘culinary brewing’: using a chef’s mindset to highlight flavors and aromatics in balanced beers. This involves sourcing the highest quality ingredients, understanding how best to handle those ingredients to showcase their flavors and aromatics, and knowing when during the brewing process to incorporate these ingredients.

京A Brewing Co. is the brainchild of Kris and Alex, two North American guys and long-time Beijingers with a passion for great beer. One cold day in January 2012, they decided to homebrew a hop-forward American IPA to celebrate the coming Chinese New Year. The result, which they named “Hoppy New Year” (what else?!), was surprisingly good, and friends quickly finished off the batch and called for more. Over the next few months they moved from brewing out of their apartments to borrowing commercial kitchens and guest brewing on other local systems. They finally opened their flagship location, the 京A Taproom, in Fall 2014.

Arrow Factory Brewing began in a shack in the hutongs of Beijing when two long-time friends – Will Yorke and Thomas Gaestadius – started creating their own beers. Aiming to bring something new and fresh to Beijing’s exciting, ever growing craft beer scene, the two friends have produced a range of traditional styles as well as several unique beers for the thirsty masses. You’ll find them on draft in their brewpub but, for now, you can get a taste of the capital right here in Shanghai.
